Veterinarian:

The candidate must have a current New York State license or be license eligible, and have a minimum of two years experience. New graduates may apply and will be considered. The candidate must have a good understanding of the human animal bond and want to work in highly client/patient-focused multi-doctor environment. Our veterinarians are encouraged to increase their knowledge base by experience and continuing education. Doctors rounds are offered every weekday for case review. As leaders of the medical team, candidates must demonstrate strong leadership skills, superior medical knowledge and surgical skill. Candidates must show that they are flexible to change,are team oriented, and have good independent time management skills. We offer each a schedule with varied caseload consisting of community practice, referral crisis patients and emergency opportunities on a regular schedule.

Full-Time work schedules are generally 4-5 days per week. As a 24 hour/365 days a year facility, handling emergency and referral cases, it is very likely your work schedule will consist of some combination of days, evenings, and weekend, shifts. Emergency/overnight shift schedules are regularly offered.

Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center, established 1958, is a privately owned, primary care, 24/7 emergency and specialty practice. OPVMC’s busy surgery department has a strong, diverse caseload, and we’re looking for someone to grow with. Currently along with our eighteen emergency/general practitioners and a surgery residency trained DVM; our boarded team consists of one surgeon, two internists, an oncologist, a behavior specialist, remote relationships with a radiologist and clinical pathologist. We have incredibly loyal, hardworking staff; many tenures of 20-40+ years. We’re dedicated to patients and community, cultivating an environment that fosters team learning and laughter. In 2008, OPVMC moved to a newly remodeled 22,000 sq. ft facility with digital radiography, endoscopy, cystoscopy, GE-Logiq-s7 ultrasound, and complete onsite laboratory including Olympus camera microscope for same-day remote pathologist evaluation of cytologiic preparations. Surgical Pack Assistant:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Proper care, sterilization, and packing of instruments, equipments, drapes, endotracheal tubes, and all ancillary supplies. Set up for all surgical procedures, turnover of suites between cases, and end of day cleaning. Stock anesthetic machines and change soda sorbs as per need and schedule. Maintain communication with surgical staff as regards surgical order and needs. Maintain proper stocking levels of all supplies. Troubleshoot equipment as necessary. Assist with patient transport as necessary (otherwise very limited animal contact). Other duties as assigned.

Client Services Representative:

FT/PT position for an outgoing, dynamic, and detail oriented person to provide excellent client service in a 24/7 veterinary hospital. Two years of customer service, or sales experience required, with 1-2 years of college in a related field, and/or a background in training/teaching a plus. Candidate must be a good communicator, have high computer proficiency, and the ability to multitask, all while working in a team setting. Position includes greeting clients, check-in, cash-out, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and administrative work, all in a paperless environment. Position likely to be split with some Veterinary Assistant responsibilities, such as working in the exam rooms and pharmacy with doctors and licensed technicians. Weekend and/or evening shifts, as well as holidays, are required.
