Admissions to OPVMC

If your veterinarian recommends that your pet stay in the hospital for a surgical procedure(including spay or neuter) or for evaluation and treatment of illness, injury or disease, we will ask that you complete and sign an admissions form.  Filling out and signing the form will indicate that you are agreeing to have your pet hospitalized, agreeing to outlined diagnostics and treatment, fees for treatment or surgery, and the means for payment of fees.  You will be asked to leave a deposit equal to 75% of the total estimate of cost for care prior to your departure.  We also request that you take your pet's personal belongings, such as collar, leash, or carrier with you so that they won't be misplaced.

Surgery & Procedure Confirmations

For all scheduled surgeries and procedures, you will receive a phone call confirming your visit time, along with the doctor you will be seeing.  Additionally, the message will provide you with recommended feeding instructions.  This is conducted by an automated service which may prompt you to confirm if you answer the call, or simply leave a message on your answering machine.  If you have any questions or had difficulty understanding any of the instructions, please feel free to contact us at 716-662-6660.

For the protection of you and your pets, our staff, and other clients and their pets, we ask that all pets brought into the hospital be kept on a leash or physically restrained at all times.  We highly recommend cat carriers for our feline friends.  While your pet may mind you in your own house or yard, being at the doctor's office can be a stressful time for a pet and this stress may manifest itself in the form of unusual or erratic behavior.

For all pets admitted for surgery or other procedures, proof of current vaccinations is required.
