How long is your pet's refill good for?

According to our standards of care as determined by the hospital owners and AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association), the maximum term length regardless whether food or medication, is one (1) year from the time of your last exam (shorter if indicated by the treating doctor).  Continuation of certain medications may also require blood testing.

Beyond one year, we must have an opportunity to examine the pet and determine if the condition they are being treated for warrants adjustments or continuation of the prescription, as currently dispensed.  Should your pet hit the one-year mark without coming in for examination, we will remind you to bring your pet in for an exam.
