Dr. Tom Insalaco
A Western New York native, Dr. Insalaco grew up in Lockport, graduating from Lockport High School in 1993. After high school, he attended the University of Buffalo, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology (cum laude). Dr. Insalaco's educational journey took a sharp turn toward the South in 2000 upon his acceptance to the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in Auburn, Alabama (War Eagle!!!). He graduated from Auburn (cum laude) in 2004.
After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Insalaco completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Angell Animal Center - Western New England in Springfield, Massachusetts. Doing an internship gave Dr. Insalaco an opportunity to manage a diverse and challenging caseload, as well as pursue his interests in the areas of soft-tissue surgery, neurology, pain management and emergency medicine.
After completing his internship, Dr. Insalaco returned to WNY to join the staff at OPVMC. In his free time he enjoys camping, hiking, winter sports, cooking, music and spending time with his four cats - Virgil, Beatrice, Dante and Lucy. He is also an avid Bills and Sabres fan.
