Dr. L. Scott Tyczka

Dr. Scott Tyczka is a native Western New Yorker who grew up in West Seneca and graduated from West Seneca East Sr. High School and subsequently Canisius College with a B.A in Biology(summa cum laude).

He fulfilled his childhood dream of being a veterinarian in 1990 when he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. He is a member of the national veterinary honor society Phi Zeta.

Dr. Tyczka performed a post graduate internship in medicine and surgery at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon Canada. Following his internship, he returned to Western New York and practiced for 10 years before he took a sabbatical from fulltime veterinary practice. During this time, he bicycled across the USA and then continued to work part time as a veterinarian and fulltime as a professional ski patroller at The Canyons  Resort in Park City, Utah.

Friends, family, food, beautiful western New York summers and very high quality veterinary practice prompted his return to Buffalo in 2002. Dr Tyczka  joined  the staff at the Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center  shortly thereafter.  He enjoys practicing emergency medicine  at OPVMC and  feels very lucky to work with such a talented, dedicated and compassionate staff.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Tyczka enjoys the outdoors and maintains his skiing passion as a ski patroller at Holimont Ski Resort in Ellicotville. His other interests include bicycling, soccer, golf and eating / drinking good food and wine.
