Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory & Imaging Services
Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center offers advanced diagnostic services, from our state-of-the-art laboratory to our comprehensive diagnostic imaging. Most of our services are provided in the comfort of our hospital. However, should a patient benefit from an MRI or CT scan, we have a cooperative agreement with a local provider.
Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory
We maintain a modern, fully equipped diagnostic laboratory staffed by experienced licensed veterinary technicians. Our laboratory is housed on site to provide prompt results, avoiding dangerous delays in treatment and minimizing wait time.
Advanced Diagnostic Imaging
When the term diagnostic imaging is used, it includes radiology (digital X-ray imaging), ultrasonography (sonogram), and such advanced technologies as CT (computed tomography), MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), and nuclear scintography (images using radioactive isotopes to define body structures). Diagnostic images can also be taken from the tip of a long flexible tube, or scope, inserted into the body. This procedure is called endoscopy, and is frequently used in diagnostic evaluations of internal organs.
Of these services listed above, digital radiology, ultrasonography, and endoscopy are conveniently available to all of our patients, right here in the hospital. When CT scans or MRIs are in order, OPVMC will refer clients to a center providing those diagnostic imaging technologies.
When referring a patient to our facility for diagnostic services, follow our veterinary referral procedures or contact our office for assistance.
