Hospital Operating Status and COVID-19 Information

As of July 30.2021 all policies as outlined below remain in effect however MASKS MUST BE WORN BY EVERYONE THAT ENTERS OPVMC REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS. The safety of our clients and staff is of the utmost importance to us so we thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation.

Visitor Policy – Clients for ALL APPOINTMENTS will be allowed into the building (This includes: Primary Care Appointments, Specialty Referral Appointments, Urgent Care Appointments, Tech Appointments AND now EMERGENCY VISITS as well.

For EMERGENCY VISITS you must still check in "curbside" by calling or texting upon arrival at OPVMC. Once you are checked in a triage tech will call you and instruct you to bring your pet into the building for initial triage exam (for vitals and brief history). Once triaged, if your pet is stable, you will be sent back out to wait in your car. You will receive a buzzer pager that will be used to notify you when you it is your turn and you can return inside the building to be seen by one of our veterinarians.

Mask Policy for Staff and Clients

  • Masks must be worn by all staff members and clients regardless of vaccination status while in the building.

Cremains, Food and Prescription pick-up

  • You are now able to enter the building for prescription medication and food pickups as well as to pick up cremains.

Euthanasia

  • Clients (as many as wish to be present) will be allowed to enter the building and stay with their pet during euthanasia (if they choose).

In-Patient Visitation

  • Beginning Monday June 28th, you will be allowed to visit your hospitalized pet. Since space is limited in ICU and the various wards, 2 visitors are allowed inside at any one time and you must wear a mask regardless of vaccine status. All visitations will be limited to 15 minutes.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation. It has been a long nearly 16 months to get to this point and we are happy to be able to start to get back to a sense of normalcy. Your cooperation will allow us to continue to work towards other phases of reopening so that the COVID-19 protocols become a thing of the past. We're all in this together!
