Learn About Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center

Orchard Park Veterinary

OPVMC is a well-established, full-service small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to dogs and cats.

Welcome to 24-Hour Patient Care

In 1991, our hospital became staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The partners of OPVMC, as well as our associate veterinarians, technicians, and support staff, have dedicated our lives to improving the quality of life for your pets, especially the sick and injured.

We felt that dedication should not be restricted to appointment times or business hours only, resulting in the hospital’s emergency critical care service. To ensure your pets receive the best care possible, we have dedicated emergency doctor coverage during our appointment hours each day. We also maintain a veterinarian and support staff caring for our hospitalized patients 24 hours per day, no matter why they are hospitalized. You can be assured that, while hospitalized for any reason, your pet will never be alone or unmonitored.

Veterinarian’s Oath

Being admitted to the profession of veterinary medicine, I solemnly swear to use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society through the protection of animal health, the relief of animal suffering, the conservation of livestock resources, the promotion of public health, and the advancement of medical knowledge.

I will practice my profession conscientiously, with dignity and in keeping with the principles of veterinary medical ethics.

I accept as a lifelong obligation the continual improvement of my professional knowledge and competence.

AAHA Accreditation

Established in 1933, AAHA is well known among veterinarians and pet owners for its standards for hospitals and animal health care. Hospitals accredited by AAHA must meet and maintain very high standards. We first received AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) accreditation in 1962 and have maintained that status since.

OPVMC is voluntarily evaluated by trained AAHA professionals to ensure that we maintain compliance with standards and provide the best veterinary care possible. We are very proud of the fact that we are an accredited AAHA hospital member; approximately only 14% of small animal veterinary hospitals in the United States and Canada are accredited AAHA members. In 2011, we received word that we had been re-accredited for three more years as continuing to meet the AAHA standards for practice accreditation. We are very proud of our staff who has made this possible again!

New York State Veterinary Medical Society (NYSVMS) Accreditation

OPVMC also is regularly and voluntarily evaluated by the New York State Veterinary Medical Society’s Facility Accreditation Program for our commitment to excellence in facility professionalism, appearance, maintenance, and quality patient care. We proudly maintain our accreditation from this agency to show our commitment to excellence.

Better Business Bureau Accreditation

We have also just recently become accredited with the upstate New York Better Business Bureau and are currently ranked as an A+ business.

Buffalo Spree Magazine

We have received recognition in the Buffalo Spree magazine “Best of” annual editions for Best Pet Emergency Room.
